Brian Wilson Biopic Starring Paul Dano Begins Production
Dano to Play Iconic Beach Boys Songwriter in 'Love and Mercy'
Bill Pohlad Directing Film for Lionsgate Premiere
Production has commenced on Lionsgate Premiere's biopic about Beach Boys songwriter and musician Brian Wilson, titled "Love and Mercy." Paul Dano ("Looper," "There Will Be Blood") will portray Wilson in the film, which will explore two eras of the musician's life: his rise to fame in the 1960s and his struggles with mental illness in the 1980s.
Bill Pohlad will direct the film from a screenplay by Oren Moverman and Michael Alan Lerner. Pohlad is also producing alongside John Wells, Brian Wilson, and Oren Moverman. The film is expected to be released in 2015.
